Chinese leadership lauds Pak army’s role in war on terror

ISLAMABAD, 17 MAY (DNA) – The army chief has discussed the security of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor with the Chinese leadership in Beijing as the game changing project is important for both the countries. This has been stated by Pakistan ambassador to China Mr Masood Khalid while taking part in Radio Pakistan’s Current Affairs programme on Tuesday.
He said the Chinese leadership has lauded the efforts of Pakistan Army in the fight against terrorists especially in Zarbe-e-Azb. The Chinese leadership also acknowledged the sacrifices of men in uniform and civilian. The ambassador said the two countries have the ongoing counter terror cooperation.
The ambassador underlined that existing defence cooperation between the two countries will be further augmented and strengthened. He mentioned the joint production of JF-17 Thunder fighter plane and frigates for Pakistan Navy as examples of ongoing defence cooperation.
Mr Masood Khalid said the ties between Pakistan and China are multi-dimensional covering Defence, Economic, Cultural and Educational fields. He said Beijing and Islamabad have also common views on Afghanistan. China and Pakistan’s multi-dimensional friendship is playing an important role for the region.
The two countries are not only cooperating in CPEC but are on one platform to stabilize the situation in Afghanistan. Their efforts are to bring about peace and stability in that country. He described the friendship between China-Pakistan as time-tested, which will further grow and contribute for peace, security and economic development of the region. DNA
