COAS, being briefed about operation in Waziristan during his visit to Peshawar
PESHAWAR, NOV 30, (DNA) -On his first visit to field formations, after taking over command of Pakistan Army, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff visited Corps Headquarters Peshawar and North Wazirastan Agency today. At Corps HQ, COAS was given detailed briefing about prevailing
security situation in KPK, FATA and Malakand Division, ongoing stabilization and combing operations, progress of return of TDPs and continuing development works. Later COAS visited North Waziristan where he was briefed by local formation commander on security
situation in the Agency, resettlement phase of TDPs and inspected reconstruction work on ground. While speaking to troops on the occasion, COAS said that war against terrorism will continue with focused approach and it will be taken to its logical conclusion till total
elimination of terrorism from our soil. We will continue to move ahead of the gains already made so far. Paying tribute to brave tribes, Officers and men of Army,FC, levies, & police, he vowed that no terrorists of any hue will ever be allowed to come back. Defence and
Security of Pakistan against external and internal threat will remain his ultimate objective as Chief of Army Staff, he emphasised. COAS also stressed the need for expediting pace of new raising of FC wings to enhance an effective Pak-Afghan border management . He said TDPs
return should be completed within stipulated time, and they should be assisted in all ways to resettle respectfully. Earlier, at Peshawar COAS was received by Lt Gen Hidayat ur Rehman, Corps Comd 11 Corps who also accompanied him to North Waziristan.=DNA
