CDA, ICT demolish encroachments

ISLAMABAD, NOV 19 (DNA) – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Islamabad Capital Administration (ICT) on Monday demolished several buildings, plazas, markets and illegal constructions and retrieved 250 kanals of state land from the illegal occupants.
During the first day of operation, illegal encroachments / constructions from 1.5 kilometers on the right of way of G.T Road, from Tarnol phatak towards Peshawar, were completely demolished and state land was retrieved from the illegal encroachers / occupants.
On the first day of the operation, 150 illegal shops, 20 rooms, 07 chapper hotel, 30 sheds, 05 kiosks, 10 fruit stalls, one wood tall, 10 bossa talls, 08 chicken shops, 10 Kabaarhana, 06 hotels, 02 service stations, 03 containers and 10 boundary walls out of which 02 constructed on more than 10 kanals state land were completely demolished.
It is pertinent to mention here that operation was conducted after the demarcation carried out by the Revenue Staff of CDA, ICT and NHA.
During the operation which was initiated on Monday against the illegal encroachments on the right of way both sides the road would be demolished. This operation will continue on Tuesday as well.=DNA
