Caretaker govt: PM Abbasi, Khursheed Shah to meet again today
ISLAMABAD, MAY 23 (DNA) – Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah will meet again today (Thursday) to name caretaker prime minister. The two leaders failed to reach a consensus on the name of caretaker prime minister during the past five meetings.
Opposition leader Khursheed Shah said after the fifth meeting that it seems the issue of caretaker PM will be decided by the parliamentary committee now after the talks between him and PM Abbasi have failed to decide upon a name.
PPP leader seemed disgruntled with the government while speaking in the National Assembly. He blamed the government for changing its own stance on the issue. He further said that the government cannot reject the names given by the opposition.
During the meeting, Khursheed Shah complained, “You and Nawaz Sharif had said this several times that names given by Shah will be final, but you are now retracting from your statement.”
