Cabinet defers decision on media authority

ISLAMABAD: The Cabinet meeting on Tuesday deferred approval of the so-called Pakistan Media Development Authority (PDMA).
Federal Information Minister Fawad Ch informed media that the Prime Minister has asked further deliberations on the subject.
The minister said according to prime minister’s advice, we will further negotiate with the stakeholders.
The minister said his only concern was the issue of fake news protection of rights of media workers. Other than that he had nothing against any media house, he added.
