BB Shaheed Tennis: Aqeel, Shoaib through to semi-finals

ISLAMABAD, Dec 17: Top seeds Aqeel Khan, Mohammad Shoaib, Muzammil Murtaza and Yousaf Khalil cruised into the semi-finals of ongoing Benazir Bhutto Shaheed National Tennis Championship here at Islamabad Tennis Complex (ITC) on Friday.
Pakistan number one Aqeel Khan defeated Barkat Ullah 6-4, 6-4, while emerging Mohammad Shoaib outplayed Heera Ashiq 6-2, 6-4 in the men’s singles quarter-finals.
Davis Cupper Mohammad Abid faced upset defeat against talented Yousaf Khalil in straight games as Yousaf also booked a place in the last-four after defeating Abid by 6-2, 6-3, while Muzammil Murtaza overcame Mudassir Murtaza 6-0, 6-3 in the last quarterfinal match.
Meanwhile, Sarah Mahboob will take on Ushna Suhail in the women’s singles final. Sarah Mehboob defeated Hania Navid 6-0, 6-1 and Ushna Suhail outclassed Sheeza Sajid 6-0, 6-0 to reach the final.
