Balkh governor Noor resigns, Dawood replaces him, presidency

KABUL, DEC 18 (DNA) – Afghanistan’s President Ashraf Ghani accepted resignation of powerful Balkh governor Ata Mohammad Noor, the president’s acting spokesman said Monday.
Noor resigned after serving 13 years in the position.
Noor had offered his resignation few days ago, Shah Hussain Murtazawi, the president’s acting spokesman said on Facebook.
Mohammad Dawood has replaced Noor as govnernor of Balkh, he said.
