Bahria University Islamabad Campus holds 14th Convocation

ISLAMABAD, NOV 22 (DNA) – Bahria University on Sunday awarded 427 degrees to students at it 14th Convocation at Jinnah Convention Center Islamabad.Chairman, Higher Education Commission Pakistan Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed was the chief guest of the ceremony and conferred degrees on the graduating students of PhD, Masters and Undergraduate programs.In total 427 degrees were awarded to the Undergraduate and Graduate students of Management Sciences department, Humanities & Social Sciences department, Computer Sciences department, Earth & Environmental Sciences department, Electrical Engineering department
and Software Engineering Department. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed along with the Rector of Bahria University, Vice Admiral® Tanveer Faiz HI (M) awarded 12 Gold and 12 Silver Medals to various students who achieved top positions in their respective programs.

Sohail Jabbar got Phd degree in Computer Sciences Department. Usman Ali, Yahya Farooq, Tayyaba Sharif, Jawad Ahmed, Asma Malik and Syed Anis ul Hassan from Management Sciences, Fatimah Mehmood and Sehrish Khan of Environmental Sciences Nimra Tariq of Social Sciences , Mehwish Pervaiz of Software Engineering, Muhammad Majid Mubarik of
Computer Sciences, and Malik Atif of Electrical Engineering received the gold medals in their respective disciplines.

Addressing on the occasion, Dr. Mukhtarq Ahmed congratulated the graduating students on their splendid success and lauded Bahria University Islamabad Campus for providing exceptional knowledge skills to the graduated students in their respective disciplines that will
enable them to lead a professionally rewarding life.

He also appreciated the University for its focus on key areas of developing student’s knowledge with emphasis on research and development both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

He expressed pleasure to see quite a good number of graduates in varied academic disciplines being produced by Bahria University. Further the conferment of Ph.D degree proves that the Management of Bahria University is fully aware about the importance of research. He urged the academia to come forward with strong commitment to contribute in the nation-building process.

Earlier in his welcome address the Vice Admiral® Tanveer Faiz HI (M) expressed his gratitude to Chairman, Higher Education Commission Pakistan Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed for his presence in the convocation.

He appreciated the efforts of the Bahria University for providing the most conducive academic environment, state-of-the art labs and highly qualified faculty for its postgraduate and undergraduate students.

He added that universities have great responsibility of producing quality graduates who could contribute positively to enhance the research culture in the country and acknowledged role of the HEC in promotion of Higher Education both in public and private sectors.=DNA
