Bahria University BoG approves re-organization of its Business School
ISLAMABAD, JAN 12 /DNA/ – Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf NI, NI (M), T.Bt, in his capacity as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Board of Governors (BoG) of Bahria University, chaired the 55th Board of Governors (BoG) meeting at Bahria University Head Office, Islamabad on 12 January 2026.
The session of BoG commenced with a detailed briefing on the university’s key activities, flagship programmes and strategic initiatives. During the meeting, Admiral Naveed Ashraf lauded the recent milestones achieved by Bahria University, including its advancements in academic excellence, research output and innovative learning methodologies to cater to the needs of today’s evolving digital world.
During the meeting, key academic, research and institutional initiatives undertaken were reviewed and approved. These included the re-organization of Bahria Business School and the ratification of the revised policy for Psychological Service Centers to enhance student and BU community wellbeing. In addition, amendments to University Statutes and Academic Regulations were also approved.
Progress on strategic development and innovation initiatives were also presented, including the advancement of the Pakistan Maritime Science and Technology Park (PMSTP). The Board reviewed authorization for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the China Sinology Center (CSC), formally executed in Beijing, to develop the research facility at Bahria University Lahore Campus (BULC).
The Chair shared his confidence that Bahria University would continue to move forward under existing leadership. He noted that the University is expected to improve further with introduction of quality initiatives aligned with emerging academic and research needs. He also stressed the importance of character building through moral values, civic sense, and personal development (Tarbiyyat), which remains central to the University’s vision of holistic education along with academic excellence.
The BoG meeting was attended by the Board members including Rector Bahria University Vice Admiral Abid Hameed HI(M), senior academicians, Vice Chancellor, senior naval and civil officers and relevant top management of Bahria University.
