Azerbaijan, Italy expanding agricultural cooperation
BAKU, Mar 25: : As part of his visit to Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov met with Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry of the Republic of Italy Francesco Lollobrigida and President of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) Matteo Zoppas.
The meetings focused on enhancing agricultural cooperation by boosting trade in food products and fostering direct ties between entrepreneurs through international exhibitions.
The sides also exchanged views on technology transfer, joint research, and the exchange of expertise in key sectors such as animal husbandry, and dairy farming.
Both parties expressed their interest in further advancing bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector between the two countries, as well as expanding the trade of agri-food products.
On the margins of the meeting, the “Agro Procurement and Supply” OJSC under the Ministry of Agriculture and “Coldiretti”, the main Italian farmer organization, as well as the “Filiera Italia” Association, which combines agriculture and agro-industrial sectors, signed a memorandum of cooperation.
Under the agreement, the parties will expand cooperation across the agricultural and agro-industrial sectors to build a productive, sustainable, and export-driven economy.
