PTI presidential candidate Arif Alvi to win election, claims Info Minister
ISLAMABAD, AUG 25 (DNA) – Federal Information Minister Fawad Choudhry has said PTI nominee Arif Alvi has acquired required number of votes for the Presidential election therefore Arif Aliv is expected to be elected the new president of Pakistan.
He expressed this while talking ot media on Saturday.
Fawad Choudhry further said the Federal Cabinet in its last meeting took historical decisions. He said PTI government believes in freedom of expression.
He said the government wants to end government monopoly over advertisements. Soon a mechanism shall be devised in this regard.
He said the he will soon have a meeting with PEMRA authorities to ensure payment of salaries because the govt had received a number complaints that certain TV channels and media houses were not paying salaries to their staff.
In this connection, he said, government may ask TV channels to deposit a certain amount of money with the government so that in case a channel does not pay salary staff, the salaries then could be paid from the amount deposited with the government.=DNA
