RAWALPINDI, OCT 10 (DNA) – Pakistan army has announced the appointments of newly promoted Lt Generals including the new chief of Inter Services Intelligence.

Lt Gen Azhar Saleh Abbasi: Chief of Logistics Staff, GHQ

Lt Gen Asim Munir: DG ISI

Lt Gen Nadeem Zaki: Comd Mangla Corps.

Lt Gen Shaheen Mazher: Comd Peshawar Corps.

Lt Gen Abdul Aziz: Military Secretary GHQ

Lt Gen Muhammad Adnan: VCGS (B).

Lt Gen Waseem Ashraf: IG Arms.

Lt Gen Abdul Aziz, Lt Gen Nadeem Zaki, Lt Gen Asim Munir, Lt Gen Muhammad Adnan, Lt Gen Waseem Ashraf and Lt Gen Shaheen Mazher were promoted as three-star generals on September 28, two days before the retirement of five top ranked officers.

The five three-star generals – Commander Army Strategic Force Command Lt-Gen Mian Hilal Hussain, Military Secretary Lt-Gen Ghayur Mehmood, Commander 11 Corps (Peshawar Corps) Lt-Gen Nazir Ahmed Butt, ISI DG Lt-Gen Naveed Mukhtar and IG (Training and Evaluation) Lt-Gen Hidayatur Rehman were retired on October 1.

Of the appointed officers, Lt Gen Nadeem and Lt Gen Shaheen are from Armoured Corps (75 PMA Long Course), Lt Gen Abdul Aziz Artillery (75 PMA Long Course), Lt Gen Asim Frontier Force (17 OTS), Lt Gen Adnan Punjab Regiment (76 PMA Long Course) and Lt Gen Waseem Frontier Force (76 PMA Long Course).

 Lt Gen Adnan has also served former presidents retired Gen Pervez Musharraf and Asif Ali Zardari as ADC and military secretary respectively.=DNA
