Another JIT needed to probe allegations against Panama JIT: Anusha Rahman

ISLAMABAD, JUL 19 (DNA) – State Minister for Information Technology Anusha Rehman on Wednesday said there are severe allegations against Chairman of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) Wajid Zia that he has privately hired his cousin’s law firm in Britain to probe Panama Papers case.
Speaking to journalists outside the Supreme Court, the minister claimed that the law firm approached by the JIT is defunct. That company has not done anything in the past one year.
“The question is that who will give clarification regarding these allegations. JIT chairman must come forawrd and give reply now,” she added.
She further mentioned that “49,000 pounds have been allegedly paid to a private company on the basis of mutual assistance. A clarification is also needed on this.”
Anusha Rahman asked: “Will another JIT be formed to probe these allegations against the Panama JIT.”
She further remarked that Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will remain the Prime Minister of Pakistan even after 2018 and 2023 general elections.
