Ahsan welcomes historic US-Iran peace deal
ISLAMABAD, 15 JUN (DNA) — Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal on Monday warmly welcomed the historic peace agreement reached between the United States and Iran, terming it a major victory for diplomacy, dialogue and wisdom over conflict.
In a statement on social media platform X, the minister congratulated the leadership of both countries for demonstrating exemplary statesmanship and choosing the path of peace.He said the landmark accord offered renewed hope for stability, economic recovery and shared prosperity across the Middle East and the wider world.
Highlighting Pakistan’s proactive foreign policy, Ahsan Iqbal said Islamabad played a historic role in facilitating dialogue and bridging the trust gap between Washington and Tehran. He said under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan had consistently advocated for constructive engagement and the peaceful resolution of international disputes.
The minister also highly acknowledged the significant contributions of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, saying his tireless efforts and steadfast support for regional peace heavily reinforced Pakistan’s credibility as a trusted and neutral facilitator on the global stage.Ahsan Iqbal reiterated Pakistan’s enduring and unshakeable commitment to fostering peace, dialogue and regional stability, expressing hope that the agreement would mark the beginning of a transformative chapter of cooperation and harmony globally.— DNA
