Abid Ali cleared of concussion after blow on helmet
Derby: Pakistan opening batsman Abid Ali has been cleared of concussion after he was struck on the helmet while fielding during an intra-squad warm-up game.
According to Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) statement, Abid was hit near the logo of the helmet by a Haider Ali flick off Mohammad Abbas. The 32-year-old has shown no signs of concussion but has undergone a precautionary CT scan which has also returned normal.
Dr. Sohail Saleem, team doctor has said that Abid is doing fine and will return to training on Wednesday. “Abid is absolutely fine and will be available to resume training on Wednesday following Tuesday’s rest day. He underwent a precautionary CT scan which has also returned normal.”
It must be noted that Pakistan is in England, they are scheduled to play three Tests and as many T20Is. The opening Test begins at Old Trafford, Manchester on August 5.
