Talks only the way forward for both nations India, Pakistan, says former RAW chief
NEW DELHI, DEC 09 (DNA) – Former chief of Indian spy agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) Amarjeet Singh Dulat has become admirer of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s abilities.
Addressing the Military Literature Festival AS Dulat while admiring the abilities of Pakistan’s premier Mr Dulat said, Imran Khan should be given time to express his ideas.
”India is expecting more from Prime Minister Khan after former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf… we need to give him time and a chance to prove his intentions.” Dulat maintained.
Former RAW chief becomes Prime Minister Khan’s admirer
On the subject of talks between Pakistan and India, the former intelligence chief said, “Talks are the only way forward for both the nuclear-armed nations. I would even suggest an institutional arrangement between the intelligence agencies of both countries.”
“He Imran Khan can change things in the subcontinent,” he added.
Born in 1940, A. S. Dulat Amarjit Singh Dulat, is a former special director of the Intelligence Bureau and also remained chief of the Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) from 1999 to 2000.
After retirement he was appointed as advisor on Kashmir in the Prime Minister’s Office and served there from January 2000 to May 2004.
