BEIJING, (DNA) – China says its relations with Pakistan have continued to maintain a sound momentum of development since the establishment of the new Pakistani government.

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lu Kang at a press briefing in Beijing said China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic cooperative partners, and bilateral relations have been operating at a high level in recent years.

The Spokesperson said that Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang have sent messages of congratulation to Pakistani President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan. He said the two Prime Ministers also held a telephone conversation.

Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited Pakistan on the occasion of the establishment of the new government.

Lu Kang said in the next stage, there will be important high-level exchanges between China and Pakistan, adding that the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and pragmatic cooperation in various fields continue to advance.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson said we believe that with the concerted efforts of the two sides, the China-Pakistan relations will keep making progress.
