Nasir Khosa excuses himself from assuming charge as caretaker Punjab CM
LAHORE, MAY 31 (DNA) – Nasir Khan Khosa on Thursday has excused himself from serving as caretaker Punjab Chief Minister (CM) ahead of general elections 2018.
According to sources, the leader said that he was not taken into confidence before suggesting his name.
Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) took another u-turn and withdrew its nominee Nasir Khan Khosa for the post of caretaker Punjab CM. Opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed stated that party would announce new name for the same after holding consultation.
He further stated that announcement was made in haste, adding that names of Tariq Khosa and Nasir Khosa were given to him by PTI supremo Imran Khan.
He went on to say that party had fallen prey to misunderstanding. “Ever since his nomination, Nasir Khan Khosa has become a controversial figure”, held Rasheed.
Meanwhile, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah had termed withdrawal of Nasir Khan Khosa’s name for Punjab’s caretaker CM as a joke.
