COAS General Bajwa responds to attack on Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal
RAWALPINDI, MAY 06 (DNA) – Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Bajwa has responded over the attack on Federal Minister for Interior Ahsan Iqbal .
He was attacked in Punjab’s Narowal town on Sunday evening. COAS has strongly condemned the attack on the Interior Minister.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader was attacked during the party’s corner meeting in Qasba Kanjrod area of the town.
The incident took place when Iqbal was leaving the meeting, being held at MPA Rana Manan’s residence. Police said the minister received two bullets to his arm.
The attacker has been identified as 21-year-old Abid Hussain, who has been shifted to an undisclosed location.
Iqbal was taken to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, where he is being treated at the operation theatre.
