Rao Anwar handed over to police on physical remand till April 21
KARACHI, MAR 29 (DNA) – Ex-SSP Malir Rao Anwar has been handed over to police on physical remand till April 21 in case regarding registration of a false case against Naqeebullah Mehsud and four others.
A heavy police contingent was deployed outside and within the court premises when Anwar was presented before the anti-terrorism court on Thursday for an administrative hearing of the case.
During the case proceedings, an investigation officer told the court that Rao Anwar had registered a false case against Naqeebullah and others under the Sindh Arms Act for illegal possession of arms and explosives.
The police sought Anwar’s physical remand to properly investigate the case. On this, the court handed over Anwar to the police on physical remand until April 21.
