Russia considers Pakistan a reliable partner, wants to enhance strategic ties: Top Russian officials
ISLAMABAD, MAR 29 (DNA) – A Russian delegation led by Deputy Director General Russia Sergey and Chief Counsellor of Presidential Administration Valery Molostov called on National Security Adviser Lt General (Retd) Nasser Khan Janjua here on Thursday to discuss prospects of bilateral relations and defense cooperation between the two countries.
The delegation said that Russia considers Pakistan as a reliable partner in South Asia and is keen to develop strong bilateral relations in all possible areas. They mentioned of Russian support for Pakistan in different international organizations including UN and SCO.
They also expressed desire to strengthen cooperation in counter terrorism and offered technical assistance to Pakistan in this area.
They appreciated Pakistan’s efforts against terrorism and said, “Pakistan has conducted large scale operations against terrorism and we want to share our skills in this area”.
They regarded military and technical cooperation as a strongest impetus to develop political, trade and economic relations. They also offered cooperation in the domain of cyber security.
Nasser Janjua appreciated Russian spirits to improve the bilateral relationship. He briefed the delegates about regional security situation and the prospects of greater connectivity.
