Not looking for any financial assistance from US: COAS Bajwa
RAWALPINDI, AUG 23 (DNA) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa said today that Pakistan is not looking for any kind of financial or material assistance from the United States of America, adding that the only requisite is acknowledgment of contributions and sacrifices.
Army chief met with US Ambassador David Hale at General Headquarters (GHQ) on Wednesday to discuss the US policy review for South Asia and Afghanistan. Hale noted that US values Pakistan’s role in war against terrorism and seeks greater cooperation with Pakistan to ensure peace in Afghanistan and resolve its issues.
In reply, COAS Bajwa said, “We are not looking for any material or financial asst from USA but trust, understanding & acknowledgement of our contributions.”
