Turkmen, Pakistan FMs discuss ties
ASHGABAT, AUG 18 (DNA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov received a delegation from Pakistan led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Khawaja Muhammad Asif.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the current state of relations, as well as discussed further intensification of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
Speaking about friendly relations between the two countries based on mutual respect, the parties noted the dynamic development of political and diplomatic cooperation and discussed prospects for developing relations on a wide range of directions for their further elevation to a new level of cooperation.
The sides also discussed the implementation of the reached agreements and the further development of bilateral relations in the trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres. Among the areas of mutual interest, the parties noted the spheres of energy, transport and logistics.
During the talks, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan expressed commitment to further development of effective multilateral cooperation within the framework of international organizations, including the UN, OIC and ECO. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan noted the effectiveness of the policy of neutrality of Turkmenistan, which plays an important role in ensuring peace and stability in the region.=DNA
