Polls no sooner than 2018, Maryam Nawaz to take part: Abid Sher
LAHORE, MAY 09, (DNA) – State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali reaffirmed on Tuesday general elections will happen next year and that Maryam would contest.
It was earlier reported that the premier s daughter would contest from two constituencies, including NA-46 in Islamabad and another seat in Lahore.
Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb said on yesterday that party leadership would decide whether Maryam Nawaz will lead PML-N.
He predicted that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would sweep 2018 elections and retain power in center, adding that PTI Chief Imran Khan would be held accountable from now on.
While talking at a press conference at LESCO head office, the state minister slammed political rivals of his party, claiming now it is Imran Khan’s turn to face accountability as we have come clear.
Abid Sher claimed that like other departments, LESCO was breathing its last in PPP-led coalition of Zardari era. “We have spent billions of rupees to improve the condition of LESCO,” he said.
Minister of State for Water and Power assured the people that there would be no power outages in the holy month of Ramadan.
“According to PM Nawaz’s vision, we will end loadshedding by 2018 and complete projects in record time,” he further promised.=DNA
