PPP announces constitutional amendment for military courts’ extension
LAHORE , MAR 04, (DNA) – Thirteen political parties attended the All Parties Conference (APC) chaired by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday.
The topics under discussion in the all important meeting were restoration of military courts, National Action Plan (NAP), Fata reforms and racial profiling of Pashtuns in Punjab.
The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) opposed the duration of extension for military courts. After discussion with other parties, they have announced to propose a constitutional amendment in this regard.
PPP Chairman said that the party has concerns on several issues including the military courts matter, NAB and FATA reforms in which government had failed to propose solutions.
The conference was attended by political leaders like Fazl-ur-Rehman, Siraj ul Haq, Chaudhry Shujaat, Liaqat Baloch, Sheikh Rasheed, Hasil Bizenjo, Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, Zahid Khan, Afrasiab Khattak, Mian Iftikhar and other leaders.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) did not attend the PPP-led APC.=DNA
