Ten killed as truck rams into school van in Layyah
LAYYAH, FEB 03, (DNA) – At least ten people including seven children, two teachers and driver were killed when a truck hit school van in Punjab’s Layyah city on Friday morning.
The tragic incident occurred due to dense fog on Fatehpur Road.
Twelve injured schoolchildren were immediately shifted to Trauma Centre in Fatehpur Hospital.
Dense fog blanketed different parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) disrupting routine life on Friday morning.
Traffic police has advised people to avoid unnecessary travelling amid heavy fog and instructed the drivers to use fog lights besides reducing speeds and maintain the safe distance in unfavourable weather conditions.
Pakistan has an appalling record of fatal traffic accidents due to poor roads, badly maintained vehicles and reckless driving.=DNA
