Army Chief inaugurates Shabbir Sharif hospital in home town
RAWALPINDI, NOV 27, (DNA) -Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Sunday visited his ancestral hometown of Kunjah in district Gujrat where he inaugurated the Major Shabbir Sharif Hospital.
The hospital is named after his brother who embraced martyrdom in the war of 1971. He is the only person ever who received both the Nishan-e-Haider and Sitara-e-Jurat for his bravery.
General Sharif visited the departments of the hospital and expressed satisfaction over the pace of construction. He even interacted with some of the patients at the hospital.
A large number of town residents were also present on the occasion, who commended the Army Chief for his valiant efforts in the war against extremism and terrorism.
General Sharif steps down from the position on November 29 and will be replaced by General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) has confirmed that Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif visited his home town of Kanjah, and inaugurated Shabbir Sharif hospital.
The elders of native town of General Raheel Sharif also attended the inauguration ceremony of the hospital.
Back in 2013, the home town of General Raheel came alive when he was appointed as the new army chief.
