CM orders creation of separate unit for security of judiciary

KARACHI, 17 JULY, (DNA) – Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah taking policy decision on Sunday ordered to create a separate unit or wing to provide fool proof security to judiciary according to their advice, guidance and requirement. There should not be any problem because of the terrorists.

He took this decision while presiding over a meeting regarding security of judiciary at the CM House. The meeting was attended by Local Government Minister Jam Khan Shoro, advisor to CM on law Murtaza Wahab, Chief Secretary Siddique Memon, IG Police Ad Khwaja, Principal Secretary to CM Alamuddin Bullo and secretaries of law and home departments.

IG Police AD Khwaja briefed the CM on the progress of Awais Shah kidnapping case right from his access to digital data like phone calls, SMS, whatapp and such other activities. “We have mobilised all the resources available with the police and the intelligence agencies to work out this case,” he said added that the police, rangers and intelligence agencies have developed an exemplary coordination in this case and Inshallah “we would recover him safe and sound,” he would.

The chief minister said that the kidnapping of Awais Shah was aimed at demoralizing our judiciary. “Our judiciary is strong enough to absorb such shocks but it doesn’t mean that we sit keeping hand on hand,” he said and added “we have to work day and night to recover him safe and sound and plan to provide literally fool-proof security to judiciary,” he said.

Briefing the chief minister the IGP said that 2670 police force was provided to judiciary for the security, of them 1200 policemen are on the security of supreme court and high court judges. Apart from it Rangers personnel are also with them.

The chief minister directed the chief secretary and IGP to create a separate unit or wing for the security of judiciary right from lower to top judiciary. “But this mechanism would be stronger if the security off judges is made in accordance with their guidance, directives and consultation,”

He directed the IGP to hold a meeting with chief justices or their registrars, they feel fit, and seek guidance on their security. “In the light of their guidance frame a detailed mechanism and then share with them and then implement the plan,” he said.

The chief minister also reviewed Amajd Sabri murder case and issued necessary instructions and guidance. He also reviewed over all security of the city.

Local Government Minister Jam Khan Shoro briefing the chief minister on water theft said that he had busted a network at Murat Cinema.

“I was quite surprised to see that they had taken a mega connection from the main line and had installed heavy motors to pump out water on electricity and generators,” he said.

They {water mafia} had water mixing system through which they were mixing sweet water stolen from mainlines of water board with saltish water and then selling the same to the industrialists. It is also more surprising that they are issuing computerized bills of stolen water to industrialists and getting payment through cheques.

Shoro said that he had busted a one gang and still 12 more gangs were operating in the city. ‘I have lodged an FIR against Taj Kohistani and his gang,” he said.

The chief minister directed the IGP to arrest the water thieves, including those nominated in the FIR. “This is serious crime and must be investigate from all the angels,” he said directed Jam Khan Shoro to give official water connections to the industrialists. =DNA
