7.1 magnitude earthquake jolts parts of country

ISLAMABAD, April 10 (DNA): A powerful earthquake measuring 7.1 on Richter Scale jolted central and northwestern parts of the country on Sunday, with no loss of lives or damages reported so far.According to Director National Seismic Monitoring Centre, the quake originated from Hindukush region bordering Afghanistan at a depth of 236 kilometers.
The tremors were felt across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Chitral and various cities of Punjab, including Lahore and Faisalabad, at 3:29pm.
No loss of life or property has so far been reported. The tremors sent frightened people rushing out of their homes and offices reciting Kalma-e-Tayyaba. DNA
