Peace in Afghanistan is vital for regional security: COAS

MUNICH: Chief of Army Staff General (COAS) Raheel Sharif on Tuesday said that peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan is vital for regional peace and security.
He was addressing the CENTCOM Asia Security Conference in Munich, Germany, says a press release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR),
While addressing the conference, COAS said that effective management of the Pak-Afghan border is imperative for successful conclusion of Zarb-e-Azb operation against terrorists.
He said that Pakistan is making serious efforts for stability and security of region and also stability in Pakistan will increase cooperation with other countries of the region, while the benefits of China Pakistan Economic Corridor project could be shared with Afghanistan and East Asian countries and all countries will be benefitted from this project.
General Raheel Sharif reaffirmed the commitment to address the menace of terrorism for socio-economic development of the country.
