Nisar, DG Rangers discuss Karachi bus carnage

ISLAMABAD, 13 MAY (DNA) – Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Interior Minister, held a telephonic contact with Director General of Sindh Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar and discussed the recent deadly incident in Karachi that left at least 43 people dead on Wednesday.According to sources, the DG Rangers apprised the interior minister about the details of firing incident on the bus.
During their conversation, Major General Bilal Akbar said that efforts are being made to arrest the culprits behind the incident.
Earlier, unknown assailants riding motorcycles opened fire on a bus in Gulistan-e-Johar area of the metropolis, killing at least 43 people dead including 16 women, while injuring several others.
Many of the injured are reported to be in critical condition. Over 50 to 60 people were aboard the bus including children and women.
Police reached the spot after the incident and started investigation. A search operation is underway in the area while a heavy contingent of Rangers has also arrived at the spot. DNA
