ISLAMABAD, AUG 12 /DNA/ – At the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Norway, H.E. Mr. Espen Barth Eide, will undertake an official visit to Pakistan on 13–14 August 2026. This marks the first official visit by a Norwegian Foreign Minister to Pakistan in a decade.

During the two-day visit, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister will lead the Pakistani delegation in talks with the Norwegian Foreign Minister. The high-level discussions will cover the full spectrum of Pakistan-Norway relations, with a focus on expanding bilateral cooperation in key areas, including trade and investment, climate change, renewable energy, education, and people-to-people contacts. The two sides will also exchange views on important regional and international developments of mutual interest.

This visit builds on a series of sustained high-level engagements between the two countries. Notably, the Foreign Ministers held telephone conversations in March and April 2026, and Norway’s State Secretary, Andreas Motzfeldt Kravik, visited Islamabad in May 2026, setting the stage for this landmark visit.

The upcoming talks are expected to provide a significant opportunity to further strengthen the longstanding and cordial relations between Pakistan and Norway, as well as to explore new avenues for mutually beneficial cooperation.
