HEC concludes PSG-2023 session for deans
ISLAMABAD, JUL 17 /DNA/ – The Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan, organised a regional session of the National Leadership Engagement Series entitled, “The Quality Compact”, at the University of Faisalabad (TUF), bringing together Deans and Registrars from 23 degree awarding institutions (DAIs) of South Punjab.
Rector TUF Prof. Dr. Aman Ullah Malik welcomed the participating academic leaders during the opening session.
Speaking on the occasion, Director General QAA HEC Mr. Nasir Shah highlighted that the session’s theme, “From Conformity to Ownership,” reflects a deliberate shift in HEC’s approach, moving quality assurance from a compliance-driven, QEC-only function to a whole-of-institution responsibility owned by Deans and Registrars alike.
The programme guided the participants through three structured sessions built around the Expository Facets of Contextual Understanding, Ownership, and Maturity. Discussions covered the Pakistan Precepts, Standards and Guidelines (PSG-2023) framework and the PERLI Golden Thread connecting Policy, Effectiveness, Review, Learning & Leadership, and Integration, alongside an orientation to Q-CIRCLE, HEC’s new digital platform for continuous institutional review and quality oversight.
In addition to the core participants, the session also drew wider engagement, with industry professionals and students attending to gain insight into the evolving national quality assurance landscape.
In the concluding session, Vice Chairman BOG TUF Dr. Hamza Amin and Registrar TUF Dr. Zahida Maqbool thanked HEC for providing the opportunity to contribute to this national initiative, and expressed appreciation to all participants who joined the session.=DNA
