First Lady’s cheque and wheel chair distribution
KARACHI, JUL 12 (DNA) – First Lady Begum Samina Arif Alvi distributed cheques and wheel chairs among persons with disabilities today at Governor House. Mrs. Reema Imran, wife of Governor Sindh Imran Ismail, was also present at the occasion.
Begum Samina Arif Alvi urged the family members of persons with disabilities to get them registered with Nadra so that they could also benefit from Federal Government’s Ehsaas Program
Mrs. Alvi ensured the persons with disabilities that the cheques and wheel chairs will be regularly distributed in Karachi in collaboration with Pakistan Baitul Mal and Akhuwat Foundation.
First Lady appreciated efforts of Pakistan Baitul Mal and Akhuwat Foundation in gathering data on persons with disabilities and emphasized that follow through meetings should be carried out to bring maximum number of persons with disabilities under social safety net.
Begum Samina Arif Alvi encouraged the persons with disabilities to invest money in some venture for their sustainable growth rather than frequently relying on cash.
Mrs. Alvi also stressed on employment of persons with disabilities in private sector, especially those who are literate and are only a source of income for their family. Mrs. Alvi said that loan for women and persons with disability has also been provided by the Federal Government under Kamyab jawan program. = DNA
