Taliban Key commander killed in Badakhshan province

Kabul: SEPT 22 – The Taliban military commission deputy for Badakhshan province Mowlawi Attaullah killed during a battle with Afghan Security Forces. Sanaullah Rohani, the spokesperson for the local police, said that the Taliban insurgents on Monday night carried attacks against security posts in Raghistan district of Badakhshan province.
Afghan forces in a defence position repulsed the attack, inflicting heavy casualties to the militants, he added. According to Rohani, deputy of the Taliban military commission Mowlawi Attaullah, known as Ibrahim, was killed during the clash.
Provincial government spokesman, Nik Mohammad Nazari also said: “his death could prove a major setback to the Taliban in Badakhshan and adjoining areas.”
On the other hand, the Taliban yet to comment on the incident.
