Stranded Pakistanis from Sierra Leone & Mauritania return
RABAT, JUN 3 (DNA) -A special flight of Salam Air left for Islamabad after taking 118 stranded Pakistanis (69 from Sierra Leone and 49 from Mauritania), including 100 Tablighi Jammat members, 12 Engineers from Wartsila (pvt), Pakistan and 6 Stranded visitors.
This flight was self-financed and arranged by joint efforts of the Embassies of Pakistan in Dakar (for Sierra Leone) and Algiers (for Mauritania) in close coordination with Governments of Sierra Leone & Mauritania.
The departing passengers were seen off at the Freetown and Nouakchott airports by the representatives of the both Embassies. The departing passengers conveyed their appreciation for the arrangements made for their safe return.
On behalf of the government of Pakistan, Dr. Ali Ahmed Arain, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Senegal, conveyed his gratitude to the management of Salam Air, the government of Sierra Leone, the government of Mauritania, Honorary Consuls General of Pakistan in Sierra Leone and Mauritania and all others who made their valuable support in facilitating the repatriation of stranded Pakistanis.=DNA
