Demonstration in Toronto condemns India’s sinister move on Kashmir
TORONTO, August 11 (DNA): Hundreds of Canadian Kashmiris and theirsympathizers held an anti-India demonstration in Toronto, Canada,against abrogation of special status of Jammu and Kashmir by India.
The demonstrators including women were holding banners and placards with
slogans like ‘Free Kashmir, “Stop genocide in Kashmir”, “We stand withKashmir”, “End the occupation”,‘Who Cares Kashmir, “Modi is a fascist”and “Stand with Kashmir.” The demonstration was led by Kashmiricommunity leader, Farooq Siddiqui.
The protesters also asked the Indian rulers to stop massive human rights
violations in occupied Kashmir and release all illegally detained
Hurriyat leaders and activists languishing in different jails of India
and the territory.
The demonstrators appealed to the world community and international
human rights organizations to take cognizance of the illegal and
undemocratic actions of the Indian rulers in the occupied territory and
facilitate settlement of the Kashmir dispute according to the will of
the Kashmiri people.
