ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president and opposition leader in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif on Thursday felicitated National Party’s (NP) Hasil Bizenjo on his nomination for the chairmanship of the Senate.

Earlier, the The ‘Rehbar Committee’ – the anti-government alliance of the opposition parties – on Thursday nominated Hasil Bizenjo as its candidate for the chairmanship of the Senate amid much efforts to de-seat incumbent chairman of the upper house, Sadiq Sanjrani.

Shahbaz Sharif said that nomination of Hasil Bizenjo as joint candidate of opposition has added a new chapter in the history of Pakistan’s politics. He said that Mir Hasil Bizenjo’s services for the cause of democracy in the country are commendable and admirable.

He further said that opposition parties consensus on nomination of a candidate for the chairmanship of the Senate from Balochistan will actually strengthen federation of Pakistan and added that his political experience will benefit the country and nation.
