Zardari’s aide Anwar Majeed arrested as money laundering probe widens

ISLAMABAD, (DNA) – Anwar Majeed, a close aide and an alleged frontman of former president Asif Ali Zardari was arrested on Wednesday in the high-profile money laundering probe currently being conducted by the top court.
Majeed turned up before the apex court along with his son, Abdul Ghani Majeed in a case regarding the alleged money laundering of Rs 35 billion but was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency.
Majeed requested a protective bail in the case, however, he was nabbed on the directives of the Supreme Court, which is keenly investigating the illegal transfer of money through 29 bank accounts.
