78th Independence Day Football matches attract huge audience

ISLAMABAD, AUG 31 /DNA/ – To celebrate Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day, the Dream Sports Group organized a series of exhibition football matches at Jinnah Stadium in the Islamabad Sports Complex. The players showcased exceptional skills, earning a great deal of applause from the spectators.

The first match, a thrilling contest between Diplomatic FC and Islamabad Veterans, ended with Diplomatic FC winning 3-2. Gabriel was the standout player for Diplomatic FC, scoring two crucial goals.
Deputy Head of Mission of the Romanian embassy Eduard Preda exhibited excellent football skills and won laurels from the spectators. His team performed well under his leadership. Similarly, Sahin Atak of the Turkiye embassy also put-up excellent performance.

In the second match, Pakistan Veterans displayed a strong performance to defeat Diplomatic Stars 4-2. Imran Niazi scored two goals for Pakistan Veterans, with Mian Abbas and Allah Nawaz each adding one. The exciting play energized the fans, who showed immense enthusiasm throughout the event.
The matches were attended by several notable sports figures and former footballers, including Arshad Khan, a representative of the PIA Union; Rehan, President of the Islamabad Football Association; Jafar Khan (former Pakistan goalkeeper); Mubashir Sanjrani; Haroon Yousuf; Imran Niazi; Mian Abbas; Haji Sattar; Zahid Luqman; Jamshed Anwar; and Mahmood Khan.

According to the organizers, these exhibition matches are a significant step toward promoting sports in the country. Additionally, aid was collected and provided for flood victims during the event.
