Ishaq Dar’s name, photo removed from Ministry of Finance website
ISLAMABAD, (DNA) – Ministry of Finance has finally removed the name and photograph of Ishaq Dar from its website a week after the Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi approved his sick leave.
Dar’s photograph has been replaced by that of PM Abbasi. It also mentions the Finance Secretary Shahid Mahmood below the premier.
Despite the sick leaves and absence from the ministerial affairs, Dar remained a part of the executive leadership of the ministry. The authorities have finally realised that his photograph and name should no longer be placed on the website.
PM Abbasi had approved the three-month sick leave sought by then Finance Minister Ishaq Dar who had requested the premier to allow him a sick leave as he is feeling sick and undergoing medical treatment outside the country, according to informed sources. In a letter to the PM, Dar said that he is not resigning from the office but seeking leave to take a respite from the affairs of the ministry.
Meanwhile, the accountability court had declared the Finance Minister as absconder and rejected his petition in which he sought immunity from hearing of assets beyond known sources of income reference filed by NAB. The court had further directed to release advertisement for Dar’s summoning and had issued a show-cause notice to Ishaq Dar’s guarantor Ahmed Ali Quddusi, ordering him to submit reply by November 24.
