Army Chief cuts his UAE visit short, reaches back home
ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa arrived in Pakistan last night after cutting short his visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
According to sources, General Qamar Javed Bajwa is expected to hold meeting with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to discuss prevailing situation in the country.
Earlier on Saturday, the Army Chief telephoned Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and discussed the ongoing situation regarding the crackdown on protesters in Islamabad.
According to a tweet by DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor, “COAS telephoned the prime minister, suggested him to handle Islamabad Dharna peacefully, avoiding violence from both sides as it is not in national interest and cohesion.”
