5th meeting of advisory council on foreign affairs held in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD, (DNA) – The Advisory Council on Foreign Affairs held its 5th meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Foreign Minister, Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi chaired the meeting.
Former Ambassadors, experts from academia and representatives of various Ministries attended the meeting. Foreign Minister provided an update on recent developments in the foreign policy domain including Prime Minister’s visit to Iran and China.
Foreign Minister underlined Pakistan’s desire to work towards peace and prosperity in the region by fostering cooperative relationships. Foreign Minister emphasized that there was immense potential in regional economic connectivity projects to bring prosperity to the whole region.
The Council also reviewed Pakistan’s relations with Africa with a view to strengthen economic engagement with African countries.
Foreign Minister thanked members of the Council for their contribution and expert opinion in helping shape a more inclusive foreign policy.
Next meeting of the Council will be held in June.
