Erdogan to address parliament on 17th Nov
ISLAMABAD, NOV 12, (DNA): Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit Pakistan next week to address a joint sitting of parliament on Nov 17.
President Mamnoon Hussain has summoned the joint sitting on Nov 17 and a session of the National Assembly on the next day.
An official of the Presidency told media that the president had signed a summary regarding the summoning of the joint sitting of the two houses.
The Turkish president will arrive on a two-day state visit and will have one-to-one meetings with President Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.After the address of the Turkish leader, President Hussain will also deliver a speech.
Later, the prime minister and Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Syed Kurshid Shah will extend a vote of thanks to the guest.The president will host a lunch in the honour of his Turkish counterpart.
Several cooperation agreements and memorandums of understanding are expected to be signed during the Turkish president’s visit.
An official of the Presidency told media that the president had signed a summary regarding the summoning of the joint sitting of the two houses.
National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq will preside over the session and deliver the opening speech. The Turkish president will deliver his speech to be followed by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
After the address of the Turkish leader, President Hussain will also deliver a speech.
Later, the prime minister and Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Syed Kurshid Shah will extend a vote of thanks to the guest.=DNA
