24 outlaws including drug peddlers rounded up in Capital
ISLAMABAD, MAY 22 (DNA) — Islamabad police have arrested 24 criminals including drug peddlers and liquid sellers from different areas of the city and recovered 5232 gram heroin, 1800 gram hashish, 114 liquor bottles and weapons with ammunition during the last 72 hours, a police spokesman said.
He said that a Tarnol police team headed by SHO Tarnol Muhammad Iqbal Gujjar along with other officials succeeded to arrest four accused including two notorious drug dealer during special checking. The accused were identified as Manzar Khan, a resident of doray village, Liaqat Ali, a resident of doray village, Sunnat Ullah and Moosa. Police team also recovered 2410 gram heroin, one 30 bore pistol and one 9mm pistol with ammunition.
Furthermore, PS Karachi company team arrested four drug peddlers namely Muhammad Ramzan alias jana, Muhammad Hafeez, Shah nawaz and Basharat Ali and recovered 2472 gram heroine and 110 gram hashish. PS Margalla police arrested 03 accused namely Shehnaz Khan, babar Khan and Aleem Shah and recovered 230 gram heroin and 215 gram hashish.
Similarly, PS Kohsar police arrested 05 accused namely Markaz Boota, Shehbaz, Sajid, Shehzad and Waheed and recovered one 30 pistol and liquor bottles from their possession. PS Golra team arrested a drug peddler namely Dilawar and recovered 1245 gram hashish, PS Shalimar team arrested two liquor sellers namely Saghir and Sarfraz and recovered 114 bottles of liquor from their possession.
Likewise, PS Sihala team arrested an accused namely Ali Khan and recovered one 30 bore pistol while Koral police arrested and accused namely Kamran Kamal and recovered one Kalashnikov. PS shehzad Town, bani Gala and Ramna teams also arrested 03 accused namely Mazhar Iqbal, Juma Gul and Qamar Abbas and recovered One 30 bore pistol, 230 gram hashish and 120 gram heroine from their possession.
Cases against all the nominated accused have been registered and further investigation is underway. IGP Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan has appreciated this overall performance of the police teams and further ordered to intensify the crackdown. “Safety and security of the citizens is our foremost priority and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard” he added. =DNA
