COVID-19 death toll in Japan tops 20,000

Amid the omicron-driven sixth wave of COVID-19 in the country, Japan’s death toll due to the coronavirus since December 2019 has surpassed 20,000 on Friday. Russia to respond soon to U.S. and NATO on security: report

MOSCOW: Russia will respond “in the nearest future” to counterproposals on European security made by the United States and NATO, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu told his British counterpart, Ben Wallace, at a meeting in Moscow, the Interfax news agency reported. Hong Kong extends ban on flights from eight countries, including Pakistan and India

Hong Kong has extended a ban on incoming flights from eight countries, including Pakistan, India, the United States and Britain, and imposed one on Nepal until March 4, with the government citing concerns over a growing Covid-19 outbreak. The other countries are Australia, Canada, France and the Philippines. Flights to Hong Kong are down 90 per cent and hardly any are allowed to transit as the financial hub isolates itself from the world in the hope it can contain a coronavirus outbreak, even though new infections are overwhelmingly local transmissions.

8 year old boy dies in Gujrat

Gujrat. A minor boy lost his life in a bid to steal sugarcane from a moving tractor-trolley here the other day. It is reported that a boy Azad Ali, aged-8, resident of village Moin-ud-din Pur was going to his school when he saw a tractor trolley laden with sugarcanes across his village.
