New media bill approved in first reading

BAKU: At today’s plenary session of the Milli Majlis (parliament), a bill “On Media” was submitted for discussion in the first reading. The bill was put to a vote and adopted in the first reading. Consisting of 9 chapters and 78 articles, the bill defines the organizational, legal, and economic foundations of the media activities, as well as general rules for receiving, preparing, transmitting, producing, and distributing mass information.
