European stocks fall at open tracking German deadlock
London, Sept 28 :European stock markets fell at the open Tuesday, as traders tracked high oil prices and the political impasse in Germany. ISLAMABAD, Sep 28 :President Dr Arif Alvi on Tuesday telephoned the families of the soldiers martyred in the September 15 terrorist attack in South Waziristan and paid tribute to their valour. The President spoke to the families of Sawar Muhammad Intezar, Sawar Salman, Sawar Sajid Hussain, Sawar Muhammad Shiraz and Lans Dafadaar Ishtiaq Hussain. Local Govt elections to be held in March or April next year: Shafqat
Islamabad : Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood has said the local government elections will be held in March or April next year. Addressing a National Conference on Future of Local Government in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said the present government firmly believes that democracy is incomplete without local governments. The Minister recalled that the previous PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had introduced such a local bodies system in the province which ensured transfer of funds to the village councils.
