Islamabad : Pakistan has strongly condemned indiscriminate firing of heavy weapons and grenades on a Mosque in Shopian, Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Government fixes Nisab for Zakat at Rs80,933
ISLAMABAD: The government has fixed Nisab for Zakat deduction on bank accounts for the current lunar year at Rs80,933. According to a notification issued by the Administrator General Zakat for the lunar year 1441-42 Hijri, people having a minimum of Rs80,933 balance in savings, profit and loss sharing or similar bank accounts on the first day of Ramazan will be liable to pay 2.5 per cent Zakat on the total balance. Prince Philip’s funeral to be held on April 17
The funeral of Queen Elizabeth II’s husband, Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip, who died on Friday, would be held on 17th of this month. According to the Buckingham Palace, Prince Philip will be given a ceremonial royal funeral. There will be no public processions, and it will be held entirely within the grounds of Windsor Castle and limited to 30 mourners.
FM to embark on three-day visit to Germany today
Islamabad : Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi will leave for Berlin today (Sunday) on a three-day official visit to Germany. He is visiting Germany on the invitation of his German counterpart Heiko Maas to hold delegation-level talks with the German leadership. The Foreign Minister will also call on the President of the German Parliament Wolfgang Schauble and have interactions with other dignitaries. PML-N Nosheen Iftikhar win Daska by-election
Nosheen Iftikhar of Pakistan Muslim League-N has won the by-elections at National Assembly constituency NA-75 Sialkot-IV, Daska. According to unofficial results, she bagged 1, 10075 votes, while her rival Ali Asjad Malhi of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf secured 93,433 votes. The seat fell vacant due to the death of PML-N, MNA Syed Iftikharul Hassan in August 2020. The by-election was delayed for six months due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
