US acknowledges Pak efforts for enduring peace in Afghanistan
RAWALPINDI, JAN 4 (DNA) – Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad, US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) at GHQ. During the meeting matters of mutual interest including overall regional security situation with particular reference to ongoing Afghan reconciliation process were discussed. Both reaffirmed the commitment towards the common goal of peace and stability in the region and agreed on continued engagement at multiple levels. Pakistan army rescues Polish climber from K2
RAWALPINDI – Pakistan Army has successfully airlifted an unwell Polish mountaineer from K2 base camp to Skardu. According to details, Waldemar Kowalewski’s ascent to the K2 summit was cut short after he complained about a hernia that developed during a load-carrying trip to advanced K2 base camp. Head of PIA plane crash investigation board removed
ISLAMABAD – Head of the Aircraft Accident Investigation Board, Air Commodore Usman Ghani, who was leading the investigation of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane crash in Karachi, was removed from office on Monday. Senate elections by open ballot: SC issues notices to all advocate generals
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court took up the presidential reference filed on Senate elections on Monday. The apex court issued notices to the federal and provincial advocate generals, the NA speaker and speakers of the provincial assemblies and the Election Commission of Pakistan in a hearing on the presidential reference for holding the Senate elections by open ballot.
